The basics

What are product development services?

Product development services turn a product idea, feature list or fix list into working, tested software. Ours are fixed-price sprints: you bring a written spec, we quote once, and we deliver tested code to your repository on an agreed date, with documentation and a warranty.

Each sprint is built with AI agents and reviewed by a senior engineer, so you get the speed of AI-assisted development without unreviewed code. You see progress in your repo and a written update every working day.

It is fixed-price software development for work that can be specified up front: an MVP, a feature or integration, or the top items from an audit. Work that changes week to week suits an embedded engineer better.

Who needs product development services?

Agencies with a sold build

You sold the project and need an engineering bench that ships while you sleep, under your name.

Founders with a spec and a date

You have a written spec, wireframes or a prioritized fix list and a date you can't move.

Teams after an audit or analysis

You have a report and want its top items built, at a fixed price.

Not for projects without a brief

No written brief yet? Start with an AI integration analysis or a code audit, which produces one.

Deliverables

What do our product development services include?

Every sprint, whatever its size, includes the same six things.

30-minute scoping call

You walk us through the brief; we ask the questions that would otherwise become change requests.

A fixed written quote

Scope, price, date and acceptance criteria in writing, within two business days.

AI-assisted, senior-reviewed build

AI agents draft, a senior engineer reviews and tests, and the code lands in your repo.

Daily written updates

Progress you can see in your repository and a written update every working day.

Acceptance testing

You test against the agreed criteria; we fix anything that misses them at our cost.

Handover and warranty

Documentation, deployment steps and a 30-day warranty on the delivered scope.

Process

How does a fixed-price product development sprint run?

From the first call to handover, a sprint takes 2–6 weeks. Your team spends its time on the scoping call and on acceptance testing.

Should you choose fixed-price or hourly product development?

Next steps

What happens after the sprint is delivered?

You own the code from the first commit. After handover, you choose what comes next.

  1. Handover and warranty

Documentation and deployment steps, plus 30 days of warranty on the delivered scope.

  2. Another sprint

Quote the next feature or fix list the same way: one call, one quote, one date.

  3. An embedded engineer

For ongoing work, a senior engineer joins your team month to month. See staff augmentation services.

Why choose us

Why choose NorthPulse as your product development company?

A good product development company commits to a price and a date, and carries the risk when it misses. Here is how our product development services do that. See our security practices and case studies.

One quote, one date

A fixed price and delivery date in writing. Scope changes are quoted separately, never added silently.

Misses fixed at our cost

If delivered work misses the acceptance criteria, we fix it at our cost.

Senior review on every change

AI agents draft; a senior engineer reviews and tests before anything reaches you.

30-day warranty

Every sprint ends with documentation, deployment steps and a 30-day warranty.

White-label for agencies

Your brand, your repo and your Slack Connect channel. Your client never sees us unless you want them to.

One decision-maker

Specs come from one person on your side, so the plan doesn't change mid-sprint.

FAQ

Product development services FAQ

Quick answers to what teams ask before they book product development services. Want flexible capacity instead? See staff augmentation services.

How much do product development services cost?

Our product development services cost $3,000–$7,500 for a Fix Sprint, $5,000–$12,000 for a Feature Sprint and $7,500–$15,000 for an MVP Sprint. The price is fixed in writing before we start.

How long does it take to build an MVP?

An MVP Sprint takes 3–6 weeks from a written spec and designs, and costs $7,500–$15,000.

What counts as a written spec?

User stories or a feature list with acceptance criteria, plus designs or wireframes for anything with a UI. We'll tell you on the scoping call if it's enough.

What if the scope changes?

We quote the change separately. The original date and price stand unless you choose to swap scope.

Can we go hourly instead?

For sprints, no. If you want flexibility, an embedded engineer is the better fit.

Do you work white-label for agencies?

Yes. Specs come from your PM, we work in your repo and your Slack Connect channel, payment terms are with you, and volume agencies get a standing rate card and a reserved engineer.

Who owns the code?

You do. It is built in your repository from the first commit and handed over with documentation.

What happens after the warranty?

Quote the next sprint the same way, or keep a senior engineer on your team month to month.

How do I choose a product development company?

Look for a fixed price and date in writing, acceptance criteria agreed up front, senior review of every change and a warranty after handover.
